At Veggly, we love hearing about the beautiful connections that blossom through our app. Today, weâre excited to share the heartwarming story of Amanda and Arthur, a couple who met on Veggly and are building a life together, proving that love truly knows no bounds â especially when shared values bring two hearts together.
Earlier last year, in February, Amanda downloaded Veggly without many expectations. On February 10th, during Carnival week, she was at home with nothing to do and decided to open the app. Thatâs when the match happened. She received a simple âHiâ from him, and from that moment, their long conversations began.
Their first date was at a vegan fair, Veg BorĂĄ, in Rio de Janeiro.They planned another date the following Friday, but things didn’t go according to plan. They arrived at a great restaurant and waited for hours, only for the waiter to inform them that the gas had run out! Late at night, they set off in search of another vegan place to eat. Though the night didn’t go as planned, it was worth it just for each otherâs company. The mishap turned into a funny memory that they still cherish.
The next day, February 24th, he asked her to be his girlfriend! Four months into their relationship, they found themselves back at the very same fair where they first met. It had become their tradition to visit every month, but June 23rd was different. As she sat down, she suddenly saw him kneeling, pulling a small box from his pocket. And just like that, they were engaged! Shortly after, they moved in together and adopted a guinea pig and a kitten.

âEarlier this year, in February, I downloaded Veggly without many expectations. On February 10th, during Carnival week, I was at home with nothing to do and decided to open the app. Thatâs when the match happened. I received a ‘Hi’ from him, and our long conversations began. After a lot of persistence on his part, we decided to meet â I didnât want to đ I admit, I was a bit scared to meet someone from an app. We chose to meet at a vegan fair, Veg BorĂĄ, in Rio de Janeiro. He waited for me at the metro station. I was very shy but managed to give him a hug when we met.
We planned another date the following Friday, but everything went wrong. We arrived at a great restaurant, sat for hours waiting, and then the waiter informed us that the gas had run out. Late at night, we set off in search of another vegan place to eat, but it was worth it just for being in each otherâs company â and it became a funny story for us.
The next day, Saturday, February 24th, he asked me to be his girlfriend đ Yes, everything happened super fast â maybe weâre both a little too emotional. Four months later, we were back at the fair where we first met. We went there every month, it became our tradition, but June 23rd was special. I was sitting down when I saw him kneeling, pulling a small box from his pocket. He was trembling, and so was I. It was magical â I was engaged to the love of my life!
Soon after, we moved in together, adopted a guinea pig and a kitten. I started the year single, and now Iâm ending it with a wedding on the way. I feel so happy and grateful.â
